Description

Join us for this nationally and internationally recognized basic critical care course, sponsored under a license forwarded by the Society of Critical Care Medicine. This course is designed to train health care providers in the initial evaluation and management of critically ill and injured patients.

September 29-30, 2010 @ The Molly Blank Center on the campus of National Jewish Health, Denver, CO

Target Audience:

Advanced Practice Nurses, Critical Care Fellows in their first year, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Hospital Physicians, Pre-hospital Providers w/lengthy transport, Primary Care Physicians, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Residents-in Training, and Clinical Pharmacists.

Course Objectives:

  1. Immediately assess the needs of the critically ill patient.
  2. Identify appropriate diagnostic tests for the critically ill patient.
  3. Respond to significant changes in an unstable patient.
  4. Initiate management of acute life-threatening conditions.
  5. Recognize the need for expert consultation and/or patient transport.
  6. Prepare the critically ill patient for optimally supported transport.
  7. Perform hands-on skills in real-time.

Required Course Textbook:

Fundamental Critical Care Support, the latest edition along with other course materials will be mailed to you after your registration form and course fee is received.

We will not send attendee packets or the textbook until payment is received. Course materials can not be sent to a Post Office Box, we require a street address. Payment must be received by September 17, 2010.

$450 - Physician Participant Fee
$375 - Residents, Nurses and other Allied Healthcare Professionals
$500 - Physician Instructor Fee
$425 - Nurse/Physicians Assistant Instructor Fee

Physician Instructor Requirements:
  • Full SCCM membership
  • Successful completion of the provider and instructor components of the FCCS course
  • Specialty board certification/special/added qualifications or eligibility in critical care as applicable, OR
  • 50% of clinical practice in critical care as supported by a letter from the medical or intensive care director, attached to the instructor application
